Carolina Panthers: Bye Week is Time to Heal

facebooktwitterreddit

The Carolina Panthers are in a bye week. That is good news, because the team has some injury business that needs to straighten itself out before they on the road to Seattle next week. The Panthers hope to get some guys back and further others along in their progress.

Injuries to Consider:

Charles Johnson – Johnson is in week 2 of an eight week recovery period. This is the only week during that period that the Panthers are unconcerned about rushing the quarterback.

Luke Kuechly – Kuechly suffered a concussion in the season opener and has not been back on the field since. He should be pretty far along the concussion protocol by now, and hopefully on the field for Seattle. The Panthers are taking no risks with their stud linebacker, especially with fresh memories of Dan Morgan.

Jared Allen – pinched nerve. No word given on big a deal this may be, but everyone is talking around it as if it is a minor thing.

More from Carolina Panthers

Jerricho Cotchery – The NC State veteran has had a high ankle sprain that has held him out of the last two games. Ted Ginn has performed capably during that time. When Cotchery returns, his role will be in flux. Of course his strength is over the middle stuff.

Daryl Williams – MCL sprain. The only exciting acquisition on the offensive line disappeared against Tampa. Williams is close to returning and he could add some depth behind Mike Remmers and Michael Oher.

More from Old North Banter

Amini Silatolu – Ankle. The young guard was questionable last week. He should be able to go next week.

Thomas Davis – Pectoral. Injured against the Saints, it made Davis probable against the Bucs. Didn’t notice it? Neither did anyone else. Love that interception.

That’s a pretty good list. The Panthers will need everyone of these guys they can get against a Seattle Seahawks team that has a knack for the rulebook ignoring them.
