At this point the same story keeps repeating itself over and over. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons had six total yards in the first half of the game. Freshman quarterback John Wolford ultimately got 243 yards passing to set up two second half touchdowns and a field goal. The Wake Forest defense held the Boston College offense to a single score in the second half.

Boston College relied on Tyler Murphy to build their lead, and their Florida transfer quarterback ran for 77 yards and threw for another 165 with most of that damage being done in the first half. The other work horse for the Eagles was running back Jon Hilliman who ran for a hundred yards and two scores. Hilliman averaged five yards per carry against the Wake Forest defense.

With the Syracuse and Boston College games now past, Wake Forest is running out of chances to get a conference victory. The best chances for victory right now are against North Carolina State in two weeks and Virginia Tech in three weeks. Neither of those will be easy games. The Hokies are part of the suicidal ACC Coastal race, and the Wolfpack have had a pretty good record of putting up points.

The ACC Atlantic race is still controlled by Florida State with Clemson hanging around one game behind. Louisville has yet to play Florida State or non-conference Notre Dame. Wake will likely not even be able to play spoiler in the division as the season continues.
