36. 9. 87. Final. 13

The Panthers defense came up big, but the Seahawks defense did too. The result was a field goal fest that lasted until Russell Wilson finally found a touchdown pass to his tight end late in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks defense sacked Newton twice in the final possession and a final desperation pass from Newton fell short of Jonathan Stewart on a massive fourth down and twenty-five.

Turnovers prevented the Panthers from ever really grabbing control of this game. Fortunately, Seattle was willing to return the favor for much of the game.

Jonathan Stewart ran for about eighty yards, which was a pretty good showing. Several of his runs secured Panthers first downs. Newton ran for a total of about twenty yards on the game and a fumble.

Kelvin Benjamin had the best game of any offensive Panther, making a couple of gutsy catches and ending up with ninety-four receiving yards on the games.

On defense, Josh Norman came back and got a key pick when Wilson and the Seahawks were in the red zone.
The Panthers will play the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night on the NFL Network this week. The loss by the Panthers means that no team in the NFC South is above .500 and we have now crossed week 8 of the NFL season. The Saints play the Packers later today, but they have the chance to lose that game and still be behind the Panthers when they play Thursday. The Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers both lost today to maintain the status quo in the division.
