It was another busy weekend in the FCS, and it all started Thursday night. Did Charlotte break their losing streak? Did the Aggies find their mojo? Let’s look at the Week 7 FCS scoreboard.

Yes, the Aggies got their groove back against MEAC rival Hampton. Down 14-7 early, the Aggies roared back behind the running of Tarik Cohen who had a 155 yards and a score. They also got two big plays from Desmond Lawrence, one of which led to another score.

Campbell loves conference play, defeating its third Pioneer league opponent in a row. Dakota Wolf threw for 306 yards and two scores in a game that was never really in doubt.

Charlotte was at the other end of another close game to lose its fourth in a row. The Citadel took an early 21-7 lead that the 49ers had closed to 35-24 at the half. The 49ers came the rest of the way in the fourth quarter, relying on the combination of Matt Johnson and Austin Duke to tie the score at 49 by the end of regulation. Both teams scored in the first overtime, but the Citadel stopped the final 49er possession to win 63-56.

Johnson threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns. Kalif Phillips ran for 164 and a score. Maetron Thomas ran for 106 and a score. Austin Duke had 254 yards receiving and three scores.

The hits keep coming for the Wildcats. The Bulldogs grabbed this game early and did not let go, turning a 30-0 halftime lead into a 51-14 victory. Drake running back Conley Wilkins ran for three touchdowns.

One week after shutting out the Aggies, South Carolina State got hammered by the Eagles. The game was back and forth until the half when SC Statel led 21-17. Central then scored 24 unanswered points to push the score their way 41-21. They held off the Bulldogs from there to 48-35. Eagles back Andre Clarke ran for 144 and three scores. Adrian Wilkins matched him in receiving yards with 144 and one score.

A big second quarter gave Delaware all the cushion that it needed to take down Elon. By halftime it was 27-3. Elon would close it to 27-17 in the third, but Delaware pushed it out of reach in the 4th, 34-24. Elon’s Mike Quinn had 291 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

Western Carolina continued its good start to the Southern Conference season by beating the Terriers. The game remained close at 12-7 going to the fourth. Western outscored Wofford 14-7 in the final period to win. Detrez Newsome scored on the opening kickoff and later on a big run.
