The Amway Coaches Poll was released yesterday and there was not a lot different to say about it than the AP Poll except that North Carolina did not move from its 23rd position. The Coaches also had Texas at #25 even after the injury to quarterback David Ash.

    Oklahoma State 106; Florida 84; Louisville 73; Mississippi State 72; Michigan 59; Washington 51; Duke 47; Brigham Young 26; Iowa 23; TCU 23; Minnesota 16; Louisiana-Lafayette 13; Marshall 11; Virginia Tech 11; West Virginia 7; Cincinnati 7; Arizona 6; Oregon State 5; Pittsburgh 2; Rutgers 2; Northern Illinois 2; Colorado State 2; Texas Tech 2; Temple 1; Boise State 1; Memphis 1.

The Coaches Poll still has a shutout of the teams are not from the Power 5 conferences. Like the AP Poll, BYU is highest ranked team not in the Power 5 among the others receiving votes. No additional ACC teams climbed into the poll as Louisville became the closest candidate to the bottom of the poll.

North Carolina will likely have to do more to impress the Coaches Poll voters than beat a FCS team and have other teams lose around them. East Carolina beating South Carolina is not only the best chance for ECU to get in the poll, but also the best chance for North Carolina to move up.
