UNC Football Recruiting: Alex Bars visits Ohio State

Per his 247Sports timeline, Alex Bars visited the Ohio State Buckeyes yesterday on an unofficial visit after attending junior day with another major program in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week. Bars is one of the top 150 recruits in the nation and sits at 134 in the 247Composite rankings.

Although Bars has no leans yet, he has a huge list of offers. The North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils, Ohio State Buckeyes, Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida State Seminoles, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, California Golden Bears, Mississippi Rebels, Vanderbilt Commodores, Virginia Cavaliers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, South Carolina Gamecocks, Stanford Cardinal, and Tennessee Volunteers have all offered Bars. Oregon, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Michigan State are four major programs with interest, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see T.J. Woods and the Badgers throw in an offer.

The 6’6″, 287 pound offensive tackle from Nashville is easily one of the top 15 tackles in the country, and he is also firmly entrenched as one of the top five recruits in the state of Tennessee with offers from both the Vols and ‘Dores. Alex Bars also visited Florida State earlier this month and has a big Big Ten visit lined up next month to check out the Michigan Wolverines.
