UNC Basketball Recruiting: Harry Giles visiting Tar Heels

2016 High Point, North Carolina power forward Harry Giles is one of the elite prospects of the 2016 basketball recruiting class, and he is set to visit the North Carolina Tar Heels today on an unofficial visit. This will be the blue-chip, in-state recruit’s second visit to Chapel Hill, as Giles also visited the school last month.

In February, Giles also took an unofficial visit to UNC’s arch nemesis, the Duke Blue Devils, and it was his second trip to Durham of his recruitment. Giles is heavily recruited in the Raleigh Triangle, as he also took an unofficial visit to the North Carolina State Wolfpack back in October.

Although it is still very early in his recruitment and Giles has not racked up any offers yet, his recruitment will surely explode at some point. He already has interest from several major programs, and these unofficial visits are just a part of it. Duke, UNC, N.C. State, Old Dominion, Georgetown, Florida State, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons have all shown interest in Giles. Those eight schools have also received a significant amount of mutual interest from the five-star PF.

One of college basketball’s blue blood programs outside of the state, the mighty recruiting power in the Kentucky Wildcats, have also shown some interest in Giles early on in his recruitment. We’ll see how his visit to Chapel Hill goes, and UNC will certainly look to impress the player who is likely their top target in the 2016 class thus far.
