Last night was an important night for the Maryland Terrapins and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Both teams needed a win, but each for different reasons. Maryland is on the bubble and needed a win to be secured into the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina needed a win to secure a decent seed in the tournament with a game that could go in Duke’s favor on Saturday.

Maryland struggled all night, but kept it close for the most part. Dez Wells put up a talented effort the Terps with eighteen points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

However, the Tar heels were just too strong in the end.

PJ Hairston led the Tar Heels in scoring with twenty-two points. He had eight rebounds and three steals on the night as well.

Reggie Bullock came away with another double-double. He scored nineteen points, twelve rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Despite playing thirty-three minutes it was a quiet night for James Michael McAdoo who scored just ten points and only had two rebounds.

The small guard lineup is really proving to be a success story in Chapel Hill. Since going with the smaller lineup, North Carolina has only lost one game, and it was their first game using the lineup in Durham against Duke. Saturday, they’ll use the same lineup except on home turf in Chapel Hill.

Final Score: North Carolina 79 – Maryland 68 | Player of the Game: Reggie Bullock
