With No. 3 Duke (24-4, 11-4 ACC) already NCAA Tournament bound, the Virginia Cavaliers (20-8, 10-5 ACC) who are sitting on the bubble needed to come off with a big win tonight. That is just what they did, and added to their tournament resume.

Joe Harris had a career high night tonight that powered the Cavaliers over the Blue Devils, 73-68. Harris scored a career high of thirty-six points tonight. He also had seven rebounds, two assists, a steal, and two blocks.

It was the perfect night for Harris to play like the monster he did tonight. His father flew into town to watch him play.

The Duke Blue Devils were outplayed the entire game, and never once held possession of the lead. All forty minutes of play belonged to Virginia.

Seth Curry led the Blue Devils with twenty-eight points, shooting fifty percent from behind the arc.

Mason Plumlee had another slow game. He only scored ten points, but came up with seven rebounds.

The frustration was very evident tonight. Coach K was not a happy camper and was told a time or two to get back into the coaches box.

The foul calls were called very heavily in favor of Virginia who shot twenty-nine free throws to Duke’s twenty.
