The No. 1 recruit on the radar of Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels has just been given a huge honor. The nation’s No. 1 player, Andrew Wiggins, has been named the High School Player of the Year!

Wiggins’ resume is already rather nice looking, but to now have “Naismith High School Player of the Year” on it, make it looks that much better.

The recruiting has heated up for Wiggins, with Kentucky seeming to now being favored more than that Tar Heels. Of course Florida State is still the top school in his recruitment and would surprise nobody if he committed to Florida State.

Wiggins will be in Chapel Hill for an official visit when the Tar Heels play the Duke Blue Devils in their rematch and season finale. The Blue Devils escaped the Tar Heels by just five points in Durham a few weeks ago and being in Chapel Hill, UNC hopes to change that. Especially with a key recruit in attendance.

He will receive the award on March 19th in Atlanta, Georgia.
