East Carolina Football Recruiting: Oshane Ximines visiting UNC

The North Carolina Tar Heels will welcome 2014 in-state outside linebacker Oshane Ximines to Chapel Hill for UNC’s junior day, and it’s a chance for Ximines to impress the Tar Heels. Ximines has just one offer in his recruitment thus far, but he looks poised for more and is being targeted by a few in-state teams.

Five days ago, Oshane Ximines embarked on an unofficial visit to the East Carolina Pirates, and he came away with the first offer of his recruitment. ECU would love to land Ximines and get a start on building the defensive side of the ball in their 2014 class, as Ximines would be a solid in-state catch.

Today’s junior day visit will be a very interesting one to watch from an in-state perspective when looking at the recruiting landscape. Ximines of Hertford County stands at 6’3″ and checks in at 220 pounds. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are the third in-state school with interest in the OLB not yet rated by recruiting services, while Ximines has another significant ACC program in the Virginia Tech Hokies taking a look at him.

UNC has offered seven outside linebackers in the 2014 class thus far, so there is some competition there. The Tar Heels are in good standing with their top target, Chris Register of Greensboro (also high on Clemson and Alabama) and have two other four-star OLBs who are high on UNC. High-end three-star Marietta star Tyrell Tomlin is also high on the Heels.
