Tomorrow the Atlanta Braves will kick off their 2013 spring training season against the American League’s Detroit Tigers. Last season the Tigers went 88-74 overall. They ranked eleventh in runs, sixth in batting average, third in on base percentage, and seventh in slugging percentage.

The Braves went 94-68 ranking seventeenth in runs, twenty-first in batting average, thirteenth in on base percentage and twenty-second in slugging percentage. Based on last year’s stats and rankings, it would be a tough day for the Braves, but this is a new, fast, and explosive team with many new faces that I think are going to content for the World Series this year.

The Braves did add several news faces to their line up this year that could seen an improvement for the team offensively. The Braves are predicted by many sports analytists to be one of the best teams in the league this year. It will be an interesting showdown between them and the Washington Nationals for the NL East race.

Here is the starting lineup for tomorrow’s game against the Tigers:

  1. Simmons | SS
  2. Heyward | RF
  3. J. Upton | LF
  4. Freeman | 1B
  5. BJ Upton | CF
  6. Uggla | 2B
  7. Francisco | 3B
  8. Laird | C
  9. DeWitt | DH
