The East Carolina Pirates have given 2014 linebacker Oshane Ximines a reason to smile this morning. East Carolina is the first school to extend a scholarship offer to Ximines.

The 6-3, 220-pound Ximines wasn’t on campus long before he received the offer. After a tour of the campus he sat down with Coach Ruffin McNeill who then made the offer.

Ximines is also being targeted by North Carolina’s Larry Fedora and Wake Forest’s Jim Grobe. He will be on campus for both schools’ Junior Day on February 23rd and March 23rd, prospectively.

Ximines feels that Wake Forest is close to making an offer to him.

Florida State, Missouri and Virginia Tech are also showing some interest in the Ahoskie, NC native.

Oshane plans to return to Greenville on April 20th when the Pirates hold their annual Purple and Gold Spring Football Game.

North Carolina’s Dan Disch has been recruiting Ximines and hopes to learn more before making an offer out of Chapel Hill.

Oshane has four schools in mind at this early part of his recruiting: East Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

It’s still early on in the recruiting process, so more teams could get involved or one team could make it clear they’ll go out of their way to land Oshane Ximines.
