Lowe was arrested on charges of failing to file his income tax reports. He failed to file reports for 2009, 2010, and 2011 in the state of North Carolina. Lowe still owns a residence in Wake Forest.

"He faces three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file a North Caroline Individual Income Tax Return and was placed under $10,000 bond. A court appearance was scheduled for March 19. – WRAL"

Lowe is currently an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz in the National Basketball Association after resigning as the head coach of the Wolfpack basketball program in 2011.

He spent five seasons in Raleigh and had a record of 86-78 with the Wolfpack. The Wolfpack finished in or near the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference (regular season standings) in each of his five seasons and failed to make the NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack did qualify for the NIT Tournament twice during the Sidney Lowe era.

The Wolfpack did play for the ACC Tournament Championship in his first year, but after that, his program went down hill.

Lowe nor any of his representatives have made any public comment on his arrest.
