The United States lost to Honduras 2-1 in a close game that ended when Boniek Garcia scored the game-winning goal for Honduras in the seventy-ninth minute.

With nine remaining qualifying games left for the United States, Jürgen Klinsmann has some work to do to get his squad eligable to make the trip down to Brazil.

"“They were very good today. It was a good game by them, and you have to give them credit,” said Klinsmann. “You have to give Honduras lots of compliments today. They did what they needed to do and scored a fantastic goal. We knew coming here it was going to be a difficult game and it was.”"

The USA Men’s National Team will return to the United States to play Costa Rica at home and then will travel to Mexico in March.

The American’s under the reigns of Klinsmann (of Germany) are 23-11 (16-7 in friendly matches; 7-4 in competitive matches).
