Mark Gottfried, as one of his former players put it, is a great recruiter (the former Wolfpack basketball player also included his opinion that Gottfried isn’t a good coach). That is a fact and standard he has lived up to since he came from Alabama to Raleigh to turn the Wolfpack basketball program around.

Eric Davis, a 6-3 and 161 pound guard out of Michigan came to Raleigh for an unofficial visit at North Carolina State University this past weekend.

The Wolfpacker writes that Davis a four-star recruit for the 2015 basketball class didn’t know what to expect on his first trip to North Carolina State University.

Davis has a list of schools he wishes to play basketball for, but his top choices are currently: Duke, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, and North Carolina State.

The 2015 recruit is ranked #1 in the state of Michigan, seventh overall in his position, and nineteenth over all in the nation according to ESPN.

Coach John Calipari has been keeping an eye on Davis and made a couple of trips to see him play. It appears that Kentucky could be close to making an offer for Davis sometime in the future or at least could heat up their recruitment of his services.
