Jarran Reed is a 6-4, 302 pound defensive tackle that Coach Fedora and Deke Adams (before Adams’ departure for South Carolina) had heavily recruited for the Tar Heels. He is ranked seventeenth overall in the nation and fourth in his position. He was onced committed to the Tar Heels before decommiting and opening his recruiting. He left UNC on his list, but it was pretty much known he wouldn’t consider them anymore.

If decommiting once didn’t spell trouble, how about a second time. Next, Reed then committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. Then again, he decommited and opened his recruiting up for a second time.

Heading into signing day Reed informed pretty much everyone that his final choices would be down to Alabama and Florida.

Today he signed his national letter of intent with the Florida Gators.

Ironically after decommiting from Ole Miss, the Rebels have had a rather superb day in recruiting landing one of the highest ranked classes. The Gators however remain the #1 in the 2013 class.
