Duke Basketball Recruiting: Theo Pinson officially visits Indiana Hoosiers

2014 swingman Theo Pinson is one of the top ten recruits in the class, and he is a top target for three college basketball blue-bloods in the Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Indiana Hoosiers. Already on his first official visit this weekend, Pinson took in the Hoosiers atmosphere and is currently looking closely at UNC, Duke, and Indiana. Most recruiting experts have tabbed Duke as the favorite to land Pinson, who is regarded as the consensus top player in the state of North Carolina in 2014.

Pinson is being recruited hard by Tar Heels coach Roy Williams, and he has unofficially visited the school in October and January. Duke received visits from the top three small forward in October and November, while the third rival team on Tobacco Road, the North Carolina State Wolfpack, got an unofficial visit in October as well. During that month, Pinson toured the Carolians with visits to South Carolina, N.C. State, Duke, and UNC in that order.

Clemson, Connecticut, Louisville, Maryland, Syracuse, and Tennessee have also offered Theo Pinson, but the Terrapins do not have a shot at landing Pinson. Neither do the Kentucky Wildcats, who never offered Pinson.

The official visit to Indiana is huge in the recruitment for the five-star SG/SF, and we’ll see where the Oak Ridge standout ends up. Duke looks like the most likely landing spot, but it’s very close among the three powerhouses at the top for Pinson.
