Charlotte Bobcats Tyrus Thomas probable

The Charlotte Bobcats should expect to see 26-year-old power forward Tyrus Thomas playing today against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. ET, and he should be able to see some solid playing time with center Byron Mullens still out with a high ankle sprain. Thomas has only played in eight games this season due to the calf injury, and his return is much-welcomed for the Bobcats in lieu of Mullens’s injury.

Thomas has averaged a solid 3.1 rebounds per game and 6.6 points per game in just 144 minutes on the season, and he has also chipped in a little bit around the stat sheet. Rick Bonnell tweeted that Thomas’s return comes a few games earlier than expected, but I am sure the Bobcats will take that with the questions in the frontcourt compounded by the loss of Mullens.

The power forward will be playing in his first game since mid-November, and it will be interesting to see just how much minutes the Bobcats afford the returning player against the Cavs.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been a star as a rookie, and he is showing great toughness as well. Originally not expected to play in today’s game, the former Kentucky Wildcat will likely be playing today against Cleveland and should make a solid impact for Charlotte no matter how much he plays.
