The North Carolina Tar Heels became the second team in the state of North Carolina to offer elite 2015 power forward Ivan Rabb, and it is the first offer sent to a prospect in the 2015 class from Roy Williams. The North Carolina State Wolfpack have also offered Rabb, who is the best PF in the recruiting class and regarded as the second best prospect overall.

The 6’9″, 200 pound UNC target now has exactly five offers in his recruitment with other offers from UNLV, the Arizona Wildcats, and the California Golden Bears. Early on, it looks like Cal and Arizona are the teams to beat since Rabb hails from Pac-12 country in Oakland, California. He took a visit to the closest school near him that he has an offer from (Cal) in September.

Ohio State, UCLA, USC, and Portland State have also shown interest in the five-star prospect, and he will continue to see offers pour in. It will be interesting to hear how much interest Rabb has early on in the Tar Heels, because this is a huge offer in his recruitment especially this early. The fact that he is Williams’s first offer affirms him as one of the top prospects in the 2015 class at this moment in time.

Rabb is a solid finisher at the rim who runs the floor as well as any big man, and that’s largely because he has a relentless motor. This also allows him to block shots at a high rate, and his length and athleticism make him more of a less-traditional but even more dangerous power forward. His upside, athleticism, and scoring ability are the three main reasons why he is ranked by most publications as the top recruit in the state of California and among all PFs in the country.
