Duke Football Recruiting: Bowling Green offers Darryl Long

The Bowling Green Falcons have been active on the recruiting recently, handing out offers to a solid number of prospects. One of the most recent offers they have extended is to 2014 tight end Darryl Long, who has been receiving significant interest from the Duke Blue Devils- among other teams.

Long’s offer from Bowling Green comes a month after receiving major offers from Illinois and Pittsburgh, and the Westerville South standout also has an in-state offer from the Ohio Bobcats.

The 6’4″, 225 pound TE has received interest from Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Louisville, and Ohio State. It seems like Long has plenty of mutual interest in the Blue Devils, because he took an unofficial visit to Durham in late November. He currently has just two BCS offers, but those two offers are solid early ones from successful college football programs.

Let’s see if Duke follows suit and offers Long at some point, and he could see his recruitment rise due to interest from several huge Big Ten programs like Michigan. The Blue Devils have offered three 2014 TEs, and they only have a chance at landing two of them in Avery Edwards (high-end three-star) and Jeb Blazevich (four-star). Their top target, high-end four-star Mark Andrews, has higher interest in bigger programs than Duke.
