Wake Forest Football Recruiting: Dionte Taylor visiting Illinois

2013 three-star Fort Lauderdale wide receiver Dionte Taylor will be taking the final official visit of his recruitment this weekend to Illinois, as he has already taken official trips to Wake Forest, Boston College, and UCF. The Louisville Cardinals did not receive an official visit from Taylor, but it is believed that they are still involved in Taylor’s recruitment.

This visit has a huge effect on the other schools who received officials from the top 175 WR, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons would especially love to land Taylor. They have just one commitment at the wide receiver position in Tyree Harris, and Taylor is the recruit who is in the best position to pull the trigger to WF.

The competition for the 6’0″, 170 pound wide receiver is stiff, however, because Boston College, UCF, and Illinois are all solid programs looking to make a push. This Illinois trip is especially important, because the Illini are the best recruiting program of the four (Wake Forest is actually in second and BC last). But the Eagles are also in a better position now with Steve Addazio at the helm, so it will be interesting how that factors into Dionte Taylor’s recruitment.

Overall, he is a solid prospect in the state of Florida based on his showings for University School. Nothing stands out about Taylor on tape, but he plays for a state championship team and made huge strides as a senior. He isn’t a great prospect, but Taylor is deserving of a three-star ranking and the BCS offers he has received.

Duke, Nebraska, and Missouir are programs of note to also offer Taylor.
