Jabari Parker to Announce Decision Next Week

Long time #1 2013 college basketball recruit Jabari Parker has been highly touted as one of the best we will see. Despite losing two spots in the rankings earlier this month, Parker is still a hot commodity that Duke and North Carolina have been after.

Parker had listed the Tar Heels of his list, but the Blue Devils still remain on the short list of his choices.

Next Thursday, Parker will be announcing the school he plans to enroll in and play basketball for. The event will be held at his high school.

Michigan State and Duke appear to be the favorites to land the five-star, 6’8″, 220 point forward from Chicago, Illinois.

Months ago, Parker had discussed his close relationship to Roy Williams and the Tar Heels so it shocked many that he eliminated them on his list. Could Coach Williams’ “stubbornness” of starting experienced players over more talented players have cost the Tar Heels? And could this be the answer for the Tar Heels losing out on so many top recruiting players?

While Coach K would love to welcome Parker in Durham, my gut feeling is saying that Tom Izzo has just scored Parker’s services and will be welcoming him at Michigan State.
