Tulane will be joining as full members while the Pirates will joining as partial members with the football program. No official announcement has been made just yet as the schools are not prepared to announced their plans just yet.

However sources from Tulane have announced a schedule press conference that was held at 2 p.m EST. The reason was not confirmed by the anonymous source.

Both schools currently play for Conference USA and will be the fifth and sixth schools from that conference to join the Big East which is going through a rebuilding phase.

Pitt and Syracuse are leaving the conference for the ACC and many are expecting UConn to be the next school to leave the conference and more than likely will join the ACC too.

Rutgers is leaving the Big East for the Big Ten, joining Maryland who is leaving the ACC.

West Virginia has already left the conference for the Big 12. Syracuse and Pitt will play in and with the ACC starting in September of 2013.

The Big East has been working on rebuilding the conference as well as preparing Syracuse and Pitt for the departure to the ACC.
